Three suspected vandals were arrested on Sunday morning in Kaduna for vandalizing a transformer belonging to Kaduna Electric. The transformer located on Sultan Road feeds the Kaduna residence of President Muhammadu Buhari. The suspects who were taken to the Unguwan Rimi police station are expected to be charged to court as soon as the police authorities are done with their investigation. A statement by Kaduna Electric's Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said the miscreants vandalised cables on the transformer which affected power supply to residents feeding from it. He said the company welcomed the arrest of the suspected vandals saying Kaduna Electric will cooperate with the authorities to ensure they face justice. He urged customers to help in the fight against the menace of vandalism adding that it is one of the major impediments to adequate power supply.
