Kaduna Electric distribution plc has emerged first in the October 2018 safety ranking by the Nigerian electricity management services agency (NEMSA), the ranking of the discos was contained in a memo send to Kaduna electric by the MD/CEO of NEMSA Engr. Peter O. Ewesor
This was contained in a statement released to the press by the head corporate communications of the company, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said the company maintained zero work related injury for the past five months.
The NEMSA uses five criteria for the ranking namely total number of accidents, fatalities, major injuries, bad networks and monthly safety reporting compliance. Kaduna electric ranked first in all the five criteria.
Mr AbdulAzeez attributed this recognition to the rigorous safety protocols put in place by the company before any work is carried out and safety awareness related engagement with customers.
The statement called on customers to always observe all safety precautions when using electric appliances and to avoid building or trading under power lines.
