Q1: What is MAP?
Ans: Meter Asset provider (MAP) is a metering plan as directed by NERC to bridge the metering gap thereby making meters available to all our customers.
Q2: What is Kaduna Electric’s role?
Ans: Kaduna Electric is responsible for meeting its metering targets as
specified by the Regulatory body. Kaduna Electric shall perform its obligation to customers by ensuring that MAP provides meters to its
customers based on agreement entered between Kaduna Electric and MAP.
Q3: Which are MAPs approved for Kaduna Electric?
Ans: The 4 MAPs approved by NERC for Kaduna Electric are;
- Mojec International Ltd
- Cresthill Engineering Ltd
- Holley Metering Ltd
- Integrated Power Ltd
Q4: When will the MAP commence distribution?
Ans: In June 2019.
Q5: How will the meter be paid for?
Ans: Customers can pay in full or by instalment into a dedicated bank account approved by Kaduna Electric.
Q6: How much is the cost of a MAP meter?
Ans: A single phase meter costs N38,850 while a three phase meter costs N70,350 (VAT inclusive).
Q7: How do I apply for a meter under the MAP scheme?
Ans: An interested customer can visit our website at www.kadunaelectric.com or any of our Service Centres and fill in a MAP Request Form. Once the form is filled and payment made, a meter shall be installed in the customer’s premises within 10 working days.
Q8: When will the meter be repaired should there be a fault?
Ans: in line with the provisions of the metering Code, a customer’s meter shall be repaired or replace by the MAP within two (2) working
days.
Q9: Who is responsible for safety of the meter?
Ans: The customer must ensure the safety of the meter and grant MAP/Kaduna Electric officials access to their premises where necessary.
