The Nigeria Electricity Sector Industry guidelines, NERC codes and regulations enabled under Electricity Sector Reform Act include regulation for protection of Distributor Licensee assets and qualification of persons who may work on those assets. Offences under these regulations include but not limited to:
i) Any work on Kaduna Electric’s network assets unless authorized by Kaduna Electric
ii) Unauthorized interference with any Network Asset: Fuse cartridge removal or insertion
iii) Make or break of a connection, seal or lock
iv) Dismantle or detach any Distributor’s cables or equipment
v) Interference with electricity meters, lines, equipment and/or service cables
vi) Obtaining electricity by fraud
vii) Unauthorized access to Kaduna Electric sub-station or assets.
Any unauthorized person found guilty of any of these offences shall result in the imposition of substantial fines, loose of professional license and or prosecution in a court of law.
