Three Suspects Arrested by NSCDC for Vandalising Electric Cables in Zaria. |
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna State Command, has arrested three persons who specialise in vandalising armoured cables and other electrical equipment, in Kwarbai, Zaria city.
This was disclosed by the Commandant, NSCDC, Kaduna Command, Mrs. Lucy Fakoya, today.
Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Kaduna on Wednesday, Fakoya said , “the suspects were nabbed by the operatives of Kaduna Vigilante Service (KADVIS) and handed over to the officials of the Nigeria Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC). The incident happened at about 0200 hours on Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Kwarbai, Zaria. She added.
According to her, the three suspects who were apprehended with vandalized armoured electric cables are; Mohammed Ismail, aged 22, Muhammad Nasir, aged 21, and the buyer, Isa Usman, aged 30.
The Commandant assured the public that the Corps is fully prepared to protect all critical national assets and infrastructure in and around the state.
Kaduna Electric’s Acting Chief Security Officer, Mr. Mustafa Ahmad Dogon Daji commended the efforts of NSCDC, and reiterated that Kaduna Electric shall support the efforts to ensure the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
He however called on the general public to be vigilant and guard the electricity installations in their communities, and do not hesitate to report any suspicious activity around of such installations.
